Frederick’s Gallery Cafe Gort Galway

An Eclectic Mix That Works So Well

Wine Glasses as Decor

With a staff of sixteen who all share her philosophy of great customer service,  Sarah runs a happy establishment. Many of her staff have been drawn from the local Brazilian community and she is quick to credit creative elements they have added to the menu.

A Feature Chandelier

All her food is local, Irish and in season. The meat is from Flannery’s farm, the seafood from Kilcolgan with the exception of the crab, which is from Doonbeg. The buffalo mozzarella is from Toonsbridge Farm, the only buffalo mozzarella produced in Ireland. Sarah’s Uncle James grows the vegetables in his farm in Ballinasloe and provides her with free range eggs on a weekly basis. All the food on offer including the bread and ketchup are made in the premises from scratch.

The menu has exciting offerings such as Courgette Coated Prawn Salad (sublime) and a  local fish platter, fresh and delicious with the famed Doonbeg crab taking centre stage. It often features Catch of the Day which I have relished on many an occasion and melt in the mouth steak to satisfy the most carnivorous amongst us.

With such a winning combination of excellent food, a wonderful atmosphere, Art and Music, the Gallery’s client base can only increase.

  1. Have to say this is indeed a “Hidden Gem” in Gort, Co Galway. A very personal favourite of ours where the food is always wonderfully presented from a varied menu and tastes so yummy!!!
Wishing Sarah and staff the very best….

  2. Easily one of my favourite places in the West. The decor is just stunning and every single thing I’ve ever eaten there has been absolutely delicious. Every time I’m in Galway for the weekend I make a beeline to the Gallery Cafe to get the calamari salad. As you said Anna – sublime! xoxo

  3. Sounds picturesque! Looks So pretty! Dying to be there with you, having a glass of vino and enjoying great company in a gorgeous space x

  4. The pepperoni-chorizo-chilli pizza is to die for! The dough and crust is super thin all you taste is the gorgeous topping with world-class cheese sourced from local farmers that just melts every mouthful! Italians watch out 😉 The staff is super friendly and genuinely caring treating you as a local the moment you walk through their door. If you go for a seafood dish make sure to have a glass of their well-curated Sauvignion-blanc vinos – they are out of this world!
